WIDER - UPTAKE
Giorgio Mannina is the Principal Investigator of WIDER-UPTAKE Project for the University of Palermo.
He is Professor of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering at the Department of Engineering, University of Palermo. He is in charge of the research line on nutrient removal, resource recovery from urban wastewater in the ISA-UNIPA group.
He has been visiting professor in: Columbia University (New York, USA), Laval University (Quebec, Canada), Tongji University (Shanghai, Cina), Tianjin Chengjian University (Cina, Tianjin), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Trondheim, Norway), Gdansk University of Technology (Gdansk, Poland).
He is Chairman of the International Water Association Task Group on Membrane Bioreactor Modelling and control and Member of the International Water Association Management Commitee on Membrane Bioreactor.
He has been Chairman of several IWA International advanced courses and conferences (Frontiers International Conference on wastewater Treatment and Urban Drainage Modelling) .
Prof. Mannina is Chairman of the International Double Master Degree Programs:
Environmental Science and Engineering
Reliability and management in civil engineering.
He is Editor/Associate Editor/Guest Editor of: Journal of Hydrology (Elesevier), Journal of Bioresource and Technology (Elsevier), Journal of Environmental Management (Elsevier), Water Science and Technology (IWA), Journal of Environmental Engineering (ASCE), etc.
Prof. Mannina has published over 350 papers and 11 technical books, among others:
